Prodipta Hore
With over two decades of teaching experience, Prodipta currently spearheads the planning, execution and coordination of the academic programmes at the Aditya Birla Education Academy. He also spearheads the International Initiatives of Aditya Birla World Academy and is by heart a hardcore aficionado of Mathematics. According to Mr. Hore, the secret to success in this ever-changing world is to acquire knowledge and most importantly widening of one’s knowledge that will cater to the demands of one’s professional needs, the need to stay curious, openness to new information, and to be ever willing to learn and grow.
Prodipta is an alumnus of the University of Calcutta. Besides his job of teaching mathematics since January 1992, in India and overseas, he has been involved with the framing of National Curriculum and development of syllabi for different stages in Mathematics under the Department of Education in Science and Mathematics of National Council of Educational Research and Training. A John Templeton Fellow from Belin Blank Centre of Gifted Education, University of Iowa and Peter O’ Halloran Fellow from University of Canberra, he has presented papers at the University of Melbourne, Australia, University Rousseau, Bulgaria, San Jose State University, USA and at different conferences around the globe on Gifted Education and on Mathematics Competitions.
His stint at the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education under Tata Institute of Fundamental Research on projects for Mathematics Laboratory at the middle and high school level and on models of Kepler-Poinsot solids was an immensely satisfying phase in his career. This led him to conduct a workshop with a team of mathematics educationists at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mumbai and Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi, during its National Seminar on Technology and Innovation in Mathematics Education.
Prodipta started two international level mathematics competitions in India. International Young Mathematicians Convention which takes place every alternative year at City Montessori School, Lucknow and INFINITY which is organized by Aditya Birla World Academy every-year. Prodipta’s passion is to drive the love for Mathematics among all students across the age group. He has co-authored CBSE Mathematics Text Book by NCERT. This book is followed by all CBSE schools. He is an experienced Cambridge and IB Mathematics Teacher and loves to work with gifted students in Mathematics and preparing them for different national and international Math Competitions.
