The New India Education Summit aims to set India on the path to its academic future.

New India Education Summit – Edition 2.0 will be held across 6 Cities and will feature 700 School Leaders in an FGD on NCF (ECCE, SE & TE):

  • Indore – 17th December 2022
  • Dehradun – 11th January 2023
  • Lucknow – 21st January 2023
  • Jalandhar – 4th February 2023
  • Pune – 17th February 2023
  • Delhi NCR – 25th February 2023

The New India Education Summit – 2nd Edition is centered around the theme of ‘Enabling New India’s Aspirations with the NCF’.

With the aim of setting a path toward a New India, NIES is focused on discussion, deliberation, and action. 

India’s leading school leaders and thought leaders will work towards strengthening the framework and building the education infrastructure to enable the aspirations of the New India. 

Witness an assemblage of leading experts, innovators, thought leaders, and administrators from India’s educational community as they explore ideas, innovations, and methods on the National Curriculum Frameworks to bring about improvements in the school education ecosystem.

The National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) aims to devise three National Curriculum Frameworks (NCFs) in the K12 ecosystem:

  • National Curriculum Framework for Early Childhood Care and Education (NCFECCE)
  • National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE)
  • National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education (NCFTE)

National Education Policy 2020 (NEP2020) Recommendations will be kept in view during the process. The focus is on “how to implement” the recommendations of NEP2020.

The overarching objective of NCF is to help positively transform the school education system of India as envisioned in NEP 2020, through corresponding positive changes in the curriculum including pedagogy.

The 2nd Edition of the New India Education Summit will be held using the focus group discussion format. 

The event is open only to school leaders, principals, chairpersons, and directors. Since the event is by invitation only we will send confirmations after careful evaluation of the application.

A Focus Group Discussion (FGD) is a method for collecting qualitative data that gathers community individuals together to discuss a specific topic. Questions are open-ended, with the aim of stimulating an informal discussion with participants to understand their perceptions, beliefs, fears, questions, and information needs with regard to the topic in focus.

The typical day (of 6 hours) will comprise multiple FGDs with each FGD between 60 and 90 minutes. There will be a lunch break and morning & evening tea breaks. A networking cocktail dinner session will be organised on the eve of the FGDs session.

For the success of a focus group discussion on an important topic like the National Curriculum Frameworks, it is important that the participants perform the following 3 roles:

Facilitator/Moderator:

The moderator asks broad questions to elicit responses and generate discussion among the participants. The moderator’s goal is to generate the maximum amount of discussion and opinions within a given time period.

Note taker:

The note taker takes notes in the midst of the dialogue and after the FGD with the participants. Reflective notes without subjective bias make for robust qualitative data. This role is essential for the publication of the session notes and the resultant whitepaper.

Contributor:

Contributors help with answering the questions, providing follow-up questions, and sharing experiences & best practices.

It is recommended that every FGD have at least one moderator, 2-3 note-takers, and 15-20 contributors.
